Having over 40 years of experience in the power generation industry as well as skills in leading teams and building growth strategies has allowed me to plug into a variety of for-profit companies. I am helping a large private equity company in the US transition from fossil fuels to a more balanced mix of renewables, large scale battery storage and modernized fossil assets. This additional income helps me expand my financial support of the non-profits I work with. I have also found my skills are valuable in the board room with a diverse group of companies. For a slightly different approach to board fees, I ask the companies to donate my fees to one or more of the non-profits I support. They get a tax writeoff, I don’t pay tax on the income and the non-profits get new sources of financial support. Everyone wins.
